Regarding the visual design of the facade of the mosque: Yes, there are many Stars of David, and as well, there are pentagons. They are stylized, but definitely there: the "clusters" of very thick framework within the design are all groupings of pentagon shapes. Also, the "dip" in the roof line has the eye seeing two buildings, and the varying light and darker areas do give the impression of smoke - all this besides the sloped rows of Stars of David.[...]
Finally - considering what this building is, and where it is to be - there is not even the smallest possibility of the visual impression being coincidental....
Those that oppose the building of this monument to Islamic supremacy are not racist Islamphobes. They understand the meaning of the structure.
While the design incorporates many distorted and tumbling stars of David/crosses/pentagons, what I found most interesting was the fact that, as far as I can tell, the only UN-distorted geometrical shapes are a number of quintessentially Islamic eight pointed stars (Rub el Hizb). Most strikingly, there are three "uncorrupted" designs just under half way up in a diagonal line. This is intended to show that Islam is the only pure or perfect religion (among other, corrupted ones), and since the Rub el Hizb is used to separate sections of the Quran, it's also intended to place an Islamic seal or mark of completion on the Ground Zero site.
A rabbi was once asked by his students….
“Rebbi. Why are your sermons so stern?” Replied the rabbi, “If a house is on fire and we chose not to wake up our children, for fear of disturbing their sleep, would that be love?” Kinderlach, ‘di hoyz brent.’ Children our house is on fire and I must arouse you from your slumber.” . . .
Democracies don’t always win.
Tyrannies don’t always lose.
My friends – the world is on fire and we must awake from our slumber.
